With only a few days until Halloween, I thought it's time to share my biggest fears and phobias. I'm sure that everyone has at least one fear! So you can all get to know me a little more, these are my personal fears and phobias that really spook me.
My Biggest Fears and Phobias
Growing up, I didn't have any baby dolls. They freaked me out. I'm not sure why, but I just can't stand toys/dolls with eyes looking at me - especially at night! It feels like I'm being constantly stared at. In fact, the few little figurine decorations I have in my room all face the wall - I can't have anything look at me / watch me sleep. Is anyone else like this?
Mannequins Similar to above, I hate being within touching distance of any mannequins. I don't like them looking at me, and I have this irrational fear that they'd reach out and grab me! It's strange, I know. But when shopping, I keep away from any mannequins.
Getting Old Okay, so many people fear getting old to some extent. But I seem to really fear it, I'm very tearful when I consider time being wasted. I'm in my early 20s yet fear growing up and getting old, and I'm not even sure why! It's not aging itself, or family-related - I think it's more a worry that my time is limited in some way and the pressure to fulfil and do everything that I want to achieve.
This one is the most rational of the bunch. I'm unlikely to ever visit a city alone, and definitely never at night. I fear being followed and attacked - and would go out of my way to avoid it. I'm extremely aware of what and who is around me at all times, and always thinking of a possible escape route if it came to it. I think about this A LOT.
Noo Noo from the Teletubbies
To end on a high note, I have thankfully got over this fear of a character from the Teletubbies. For those who don't know, Noo Noo is a vacuum-like thing from the children's cartoon. When I was a child, I always thought those street cleaners were huge Noo Noos and would run away from them in case they'd suck me up!
There ya go! What are your biggest fears and phobias? Do you share any of mine? Do I have any fellow noo-noo phobia friends?
